IkapaPlaces Winelands Tour
No visit to Cape Town can be complete without visiting the surrounding winelands and especially so the vineyards near Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. This area is renowned for exceptional wines and spectacular landscapes. Not only can guests taste and buy exquisite wines during this experience, but they can also marvel at two of the Cape’s most astonishing gardens. All accompanied by mesmerizing storytelling on the history and contemporary culture of the region.

We visit South Africa’s foremost sculpture garden, as well as an inspiring an astonishing herb, fruit and vegetable garden, located on a renowned wine farm. Add to that, visits to some of the most historic vineyards in the country, where guests can dabble in exceptional cuisine, created from the freshest ingredients. All in all, the most stellar day you could wish for.

8:00 Hotel pickup and drive to the winelands

9:00 STOP 1: Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden
We amble through the stunning gardens, admiring the sculptures of Dylan Lewis and stay for tea, coffee and snacks, or a full breakfast if you prefer.

11:00 Depart and drive through Stellenbosch.

11:40 STOP 2 Muratie Wine Estate
Enjoy premium wine tasting at one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa, dating to 1685.

12:30 Depart

13:00 STOP 3: Boschendal Wine Estate
Enjoy lunch and wine tasting at one of the most picturesque farms imaginable.

14:30: Depart on a leisurely and scenic drive through Franschhoek. We briefly stop at the Huguenot Monument.

15:30: STOP 4: Babylonstoren
Walk through the stunning herb, fruit, and vegetable garden, followed by a final wine tasting.

17:00 Depart

18:00 Drop off at hotels in Cape Town.

Rates:
Note that the prices include transport with public permitted driver and vehicle as well as guiding/storytelling by Gerald Garner or another LocalPlaces – IkapaPlaces guide. The price also covers the three wine tastings and the entrance fee at Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden. However, any snacks, meals, other drinks, and shopping along the way is for the customer’s own account on the day

Guests participate in all JoburgPlaces tours at their own risk. Neither JoburgPlaces, nor its guides, accept any responsibility whatsoever for any injury, accident or death that may occur while participating in a JoburgPlaces tour, whether in a public or a private space.

A tour booking is only secured upon payment.

Provisional bookings will automatically be cancelled if not paid within 48 hours from making a booking.

Bookings cannot be cancelled once paid for any reason whatsoever and no refunds will be offered for cancelled bookings.

Bookings can be postponed to another date if postponed more than 30 days in advance of the booked date. However, bookings cannot be postponed for any reason whatsoever within 30 days of the tour date, as we would lose the opportunity to take another booking for that slot.
