Winelands Tour (8am-6pm)
No visit to Cape Town can be complete without visiting the surrounding winelands and especially so the vineyards near Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. This area is renowned for exceptional wines and spectacular landscapes. Our tour is not designed as a complete wine connoisseur’s tasting experience, but rather a leisurely exploration of the beautiful Winelands landscapes, spaces and places. Of course, we enjoy some delectable wines and cuisine along the way and dabble in historic and contemporary storytelling.
We make only four stops, carefully selected to make for a wholesome and most enjoyable experience. We visit South Africa’s foremost sculpture garden (Dylan Lewis), as well as an inspiring an astonishing herb, fruit and vegetable garden (Babylonstoren). Add to that, some of the most iconic vineyards in the country for wine tasting and lunch in a remarkable setting – historic and contemporary at the same time. All in all, the most stellar day you could wish for.
It is a day packed full of experiences and it is essential to be prepared. Be sure to eat breakfast and enjoy coffee at your hotel BEFORE we depart on the tour. Or pack something to eat in the vehicle on the way to the winelands and bring a takeaway coffee along.
