Winelands Tour (8am-6pm)
No visit to Cape Town can be complete without visiting the surrounding winelands and especially so the vineyards near Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. This area is renowned for exceptional wines and spectacular landscapes – and a wine industry dating to the 1680s, that is the oldest in the world outside of Europe/the Mediterranean and Middle East.
Apart from visiting spectacular wine farms and vineyards, we also explore the intriguing history of South Africa and the Cape winelands. It is a total immersion into culture, wine, food, nature, spectacular scenery and historical storytelling. This tour can be customized to cater for specific interests in wine cultivars, areas and more .
8:00 Hotel pickup and drive to the winelands
9:00 STOP 1: Breakfast at a streetside cafe in Stellenbosch
10:00 Stroll through the picturesque town of Stellenbosch, known as a university town at the heart of
the Winelands. Also famous for its restaurants and tech industry.
10:30 Drive up Helshoogte Pass
10:45 STOP 2: Thelema Wine Estate
Wine tasting at Thelema, an authentic wine farm with a stunning view over the valley to the mountains.
11:45 STOP 3: Tokara Deli
Pop in to the spectacular deli of the Tokara Winery, next door to Thelema.
12:00 Drive down into the Franschhoek Valley
12:15 STOP 4: Walkabout at Boschendal
The second oldest wine farm in South Africa. We marvel at its werf (yard) layout, architecture and
amble through the deli, home shop, gallery and garden.
13:00 Drive to La Motte
13:15 STOP 5: Lunch and Lami Brasserie at La Motte
(We could also enjoy lunch at the picturesque Werf Restaurant at Boschendal. We will finalize the lunch arrangements during the booking process)
14:45 Drive via Franschhoek
15:00 STOP 6: Haute Cabriere
Spectacular views, perfect for tasting wine of Cap Classique (naturally-fermented bubbly).
15:45: Drive back via Franschhoek
16:15: STOP 7: Babylonstoren
Walk through the stunning herb, fruit, and vegetable garden, followed by a wine tasting.
17:15 Depart
18:00 Drop off at hotels in Cape Town.

Available as a private tour only at any time, 7-days a week, subject to availability.
We charge separately for guiding and for transport:
The minimum guiding charge is R5000 for up to 2 guests, R6000 for up to 3 guests or R1800 per person if you are more than 3 guests. For larger groups, ask for a customized quote.
The minimum transport charge is R4000 for up to 2 guests, R4500 for up to 3 guests or R6500 in total if you are up to 6 guests. For more guests, we will quote you on the best transport option. Transport charges may vary depending on your pickup and drop-off location or the travel season. We will confirm charges before you make the booking.
Any food, drink or entrance fees for the customer’s account on the day

Guests participate in all LocalPlaces tours at their own risk. Neither LocalPlaces, nor its guides, accept any responsibility whatsoever for any injury, accident or death that may occur while participating in a LocalPlaces tour, whether in a public or a private space.
A tour booking is only secured upon payment.
Provisional bookings will automatically be cancelled if not paid within 48 hours from making a booking.
Bookings cannot be cancelled once paid for any reason whatsoever and no refunds will be offered for cancelled bookings.
Bookings can be postponed to another date if postponed more than 30 days in advance of the booked date. However, bookings cannot be postponed for any reason whatsoever within 30 days of the tour date, as we would lose the opportunity to take another booking for that slot.
STARTING POINT
For driving tours, pickup and drop off is included from/to your hotel (one address) as long as it is located in the City Bowl. Pickups and drop offs at addresses further away could possible be arranged at an additional fee.
